The products which you can buy and customize; are made of 100% organic cotton as well as 85% organic cotton with an admixture of 15% recycled polyester.

Products made of organic cotton mean that they are made of very good cotton for the cultivation of which no harmful chemicals such as synthetic pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and GMOs (genetically modified organisms) have been used, which are compatible with the principles of organic farming. Besides, a lot of emphases is placed on saving energy and water. Organic farming is subject to certification. It should be emphasized that the production of organic fibres is not directly covered by the GOTS certification system, as the GOTS itself does not establish standards for the cultivation of organic fibres. Instead, the cultivation of organic fibres is subject to organic farming standards, many of which are set by national governments, and this is already regulated by IFOAM ORGANICS INTERNATIONAL https://www.ifoam.bio/our-work/how/standards-certification/organic-guarantee-system/ifoam-family-standards, therefore any organic farming must meet the standards set by IFOAM to be able to offer organic cotton.

At the DIWU, all products are made of certified fibres from organic farms around the world. Our products are manufactured in Bangladesh in a GOTS-certified factory, where human rights are respected, where the standard of living of employees is raised, and thus reducing the negative impact on the environment is controlled and limited.

Why should we choose organic cotton? Because it is safe and non-toxic to our skin. During its cultivation and production, environmental aspects were taken into account, where the soil and groundwater did not receive harmful chemicals and, most importantly, the rights of people working in plantation, production and distribution were not violated.
