WE WASH AND DYE IN THE CENTER OF POLAND

The KNKKANAKA brand, located in Łódź, has been operating since 2004, it obtained the GOTS certificate in 2016. It provides services in the field of washing, dyeing, special effects, hand made, ironing, packaging and consulting.

The mission of raising public awareness as well as clothing brands takes place through participation in ethical fairs, discussion panels during sustainable fashion events such as Neonyt Berlin, Modopolis, Cultural Crucible, Moda z waste, Fashion Revolution Poland. During his public appearances, lectures, podcasts, radio broadcast on Czwórka Polskie Radio, as well as on breakfast television, "Question for Breakfast" raises social awareness of toxins in clothes and their impact on human health. Through our group on FB Slowfashion & Upcycling slow life without toxins, we make society aware of how to read care labels.

At the same time, during meetings with clothing brands, designers, and customers of the KNKKANAKA brand, solutions for clothing, the so-called unsold warehouse stock. Clothing remaining on the shelves of warehouses does not have to be disposed of. Missing collections do not have to end up in the bin. Upcycling among Polish brands is a taboo subject, many brands are ashamed of their production backlogs or completely deny them. By providing advice on the preparation of products for production related to dyeing or washing, we try to convince the client to use environmentally friendly materials/accessories as well as suitable for subsequent upcycling.

Each product properly and carefully prepared for production is suitable for re-dyeing or washing - it is an added value, which means that an unsold (so-called wrong colour or pattern) can be re-dyed and re-sold. The circular economy in textiles cannot only be based on recycled fibres. Each clothing brand must feel responsible for the products launched for sale, each clothing brand must be able to provide support to a customer who is bored with a given product and will not know what to do with it.

That is why the UPDIWU (Upcycle Do It With Us) platform was created, dedicated to both clothing brands and consumers. The latest introduced platform is DIWU (Do It With Us), where clothing brands can purchase GOTS-certified clothing, which is later suitable for upcycling, without any MOQ.
